Tofan signs dlrs 18 million contract for tractor import (Rompres)

Bucharest, April 30 /Rompres/ - Tire manufacturer Tofan Group signed a dlrs 18 million contract with Polish tractor maker Pronar Narew, during a meeting between Romanian and Polish businessmen.

The contract provides for tractor import and production in Romania, as well as for the export of special tires from Romania.

Romania's annual imports from Poland amount to dlrs 38 million, while Poland imports from Romania goods worth dlrs 11 million annually.

Tofan supplies a large range of tires through a 400-outlet network in Romania. The company employs 3,200 people and ended last year with more than dlrs 100 million in turnover. Three Tofan factories were purchased in 2001 by French tire manufacturer Michelin.
